KYPP offers the VICTORIAN CERTIFICATE OF APPLIED LEARNING (VCAL) at Foundation, Intermediate and Senior levels. Each of these levels is equivalent to a Year 12 pass. VCAL also requires students to undertake a minimum of 180 hours of Vocational, Educational and Training (VET) units of competencies.
KYPP anticipates that our young parents involved will benefit from the on-going mentoring and support and in turn will complete the certificates offered. Likewise we expect our students to engage more with the community, support other young parents and families, and be more active in seeking/gaining employment. KYPP is a place where you can receive guidance, support, childcare, professional career advice and a quality education as you transition into the next stage in your life.
Due to the unique nature of the KYPP program students will study Units of Competencies (UOC’s) from a variety of training packages. The UoC’s delivered in this course are designed to engage young parents to gain skills for life and confidence to gain further education. The program is targeted towards young parents (14-21yrs) who are either pregnant or who are already parents and who are no longer in education.
